I have made myself the promise that I will not purchase a thing for this book. So far I managed with the fabric I had on hand. It will be made only with what I already have including beads, ribbon, threads, etc. We will see how I go with this.
Here are the squares. They have not been squared off yet but will be 10" square when finished. I do not like the gold one so I am going to take some pieces out and add others when I get to Florida.

Time for Florida already...so quickly the months fly past. Your fan blocks are lovely. Time spent embellishing these will be very special. The finished book sounds glorious. Creative Stitching Bliss Dear...
Such lovely squares. You are going to have a very enjoyable time embellishing these.
Oh, these are beautiful! What a pretty project this will be. Florida...warm sand, sunshine, the sound of the ocean...take me with you!!!
I love the "use only stuff in the stash idea". I've been doing that for the last little while too. Most of us spend a lot of time growing the stash and then don't use it up. Your fan blocks look like a lot of fun to stitch.
Wonderful fan blocks! I'm sure they'll provide many happy hours of stitching. I'm trying to use my stash, too, rather than buying new. Have a happy winter in Florida.
Ha! Ha! who are you trying to kid? :-)
Do consider coming back to Tuesday Stitchers in January. Many of us will be starting new projects for 2014. It's a great way to keep you on track.
I like your gold block. I think it fits well with the other colors.
Fantastic idea with the image centered and fan shapes illuminating out. I think they are just beautiful and will be even more so once embellished. I keep saying I am going to use up my stash before buying new and then I stop by the store for thread or something and before I know it...
These are so beautiful Freda! Definitely a perfect project to stitch while enjoying the warmer temps in Florida. btw - where did that summer go? Wasn't it just yesterday you came back?
Oh Freda! These are stunning! I can't wait to watch your stitching progress on these.
Hugs, Pam
