SQUARE ONE

I am going to post a square that I finished off this afternoon. This week for once I did not have one thing on the calender. My water aerobics session finished last Sat. They take one week off with the pools closed to clean them, etc. then our next session starts next week and continues until the weekend I leave for Fl. Oct. 16th. Perfect timing. No dr. or dentist appts. either. Next week I make up for it with a dentist visit and 2 different Dr. appts. It never seems to end. Also my daughter and her family left yesterday for 1 week at a resort in Puerto Vallarta,Mexico so no shopping trips either.
I may have to run over and water my rhubarb and her flowers. I have been bribing my 2 youngest grandsons to water and I pay them .50 cents a bucket to haul the water down to the patch where we put it. It is a long haul because she lives on a 2 acre or more site.
I paid $1.00 to the youngest and 5.50 to the middle child last week. Actally gave him a $10.00 because I had no change so he owes me 9 more bucketfuls. Child labor.

Well with this free week I am not leaving the house unless I have to and I am trying to put the finishing touches on my "Butterfly wallhanging" squares. They are 90% finished and I just needed a week like this to put finish to them. This will be the 12 outside squares and I have finished the 4 triangle squares for the middle. I then have to finish what I am planning for there then put it all together. After I had snapped the pics and looked at them I noticed that I had not done too much actual cq stitching on this square.
Also I have tried to put some white on each square because my good friend Allie (from Allie in Stitches) when I told her I was using black, purple and greys as my main colors told me to make sure I put enough light color in there to brighten it up. Hope I have Allie.

On this first block I have used an old vase pin and filled it with an old beaded flower with a pearl. I have used a lot of delicas on this and they just sparkle but unfortunately you do not see them in the pics. I love delicas. Some trims and a large black lace piece were also used. Hope you like it.

I love it (but you know that already). Someday I want so badly to make that quilt but in the meantime I am enjoying your progress. I just know that it's going to be beautiful in the end!!

I just love the colours in these and the small amount of white is just enough.
