GOOD NEWS

I had my complete body bone scan last Wed. and my Dr. was out of town until yesterday.  They called in the afternoon and said there was NO cancer in my bones.  I know that is what they were looking for even though the Dr. did not tell me that but the technician was explaining about the scan and accidently told me they use this looking for cancer which I had thought anyways.  My oldest and last sister passed away last year with bone cancer in April and I had mentioned that to my Dr. so of course that was in his mind.

What it did show was a lot of arthritis in particular places and one was the right elbow plus both wrists.  I guess that is why the cortisone shot did not help this time.  I have been trying to really not do much in the way of using the arm but that is almost impossible when you are the chief cook and bottle washer.  Unless you had a live in housekeeper having house help would not help too much.  I am considering hiring a cleaning woman for the heavy work. I have one at home I ha ve had for years but it is a much larber house.  I go to the Dr. on Thurs to talk about what we can do.  I guess therapy (which I thought I might need) will be of no help if it is arthritis.

I have been reading most of your blogs but not leaving messages because it hurts to even do this.
I took 2 advil after lunch and that has helped.  I might be living on them after this.

I did get some christmas decorations up and will have to take pics and post.  My daughter Sue is flying in from Chicago Sun. and flying back Thurs. night.  Just a short visit by herself.  We will be lunching, shopping, etc.  I am looking forward to it.

I don't know if chiropractic care can help you or not but it has done wonders for me. My chiropractor mentioned I had some arthritis in my hip.

Aging is the pits...and arthritis is a bane.... I've not had it in my wrists but hands are terrible and also shoulders, spine, knees, and etc. I do wrap my hands in a heating pad and then gently massage....seems to help some. The sheep were the best... I'd bury my hands in their lanolin rich wool and massage their backs, Made my hands feel great. Maybe you can find a farm!! lol Ger

Good news on one hand and not so good on the other. Arthritis is definitely not fun, but better than what they were looking for. I don't know if you can get 'Voltaren' where you are...here we can get it without a prescription...but it might help. I know it helps my hand. Sending you healing thoughts Freda.

My husband has RA and has since the 70's. Today he is home because he can't walk well. So glad you are cancer clear. Living with arthritis can be difficult, but I guess we just have to deal with it. Get the cleaning help and same yourself for what you enjoy!

Merry Christmas.

I am grateful to hear no cancer! Arthritis is such a difficult thing - my husband was just recently diagnosed with it (degenerative joint disease) in both knees and has been in misery! Big hugs!

I hope you can find a treatment to help with the arthritis, but living on advil is not good.......hope your Dr. has some healthy and helpful ideas. The chiro has helped DH with his. Hugs.

Adding my comments to the others here - so glad you don't have cancer. Arthritis is manageable - but I don't know about injections! What is that doctor pumping into you? No, I don't want to know.
There are lots of ways to help you cope with arthritis - remedial massage, with or without essential oils such as rosemary which is excellent. Chiro, osteo, heat pads, warm to hot baths or showers, gentle regular exercise followed by rest. Avoid whatever hurts, and if that includes housework, it is worth paying someone to do the heavy stuff like vaccuming and mopping floors.
