Flannel is a good choice or cotton with a wool/poly mix for the batting or another option could be using polar fleece straight on the back which is what I have done and I have found nothing warmer so soft and light but, of course, it is not a natural fibre!
Have a lovely time away Freda and stay tuned as I'm sure there will be more Spring garden photos with all the roses coming on.
Take care!
Hugs from here,
Suzy suziqu's thread workshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01778561122767076015noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2156446618762973579.post-56360560026612387832013-09-10T23:10:07.079-07:002013-09-10T23:10:07.079-07:00It's as fabulous as I knew it would be!! I like you have so many antique shops waiting for me, so many choices for linens and lace. We look like the Beverly Hills Hillbillies when we roll into town.
Beautiful work, Frieda. I always pre-wash it as there seem to be many varying degrees of quality in the flannels but other-wise, I've never had trouble. It is worth paying the extra money for a good one.Jillaynehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01533504920962855079noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2156446618762973579.post-58669832571008969182013-09-09T06:01:25.703-07:002013-09-09T06:01:25.703-07:00Beautiful, by the way!!Beautiful, by the way!!Debra Dixonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14959081275116311853noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2156446618762973579.post-77976463558539243712013-09-09T06:01:13.436-07:002013-09-09T06:01:13.436-07:00I agree. You might use a plain flannel as a batting (I do that all the time) & then a nice cotton on the back. You could use a reproduction print in keeping with the linen theme.Debra Dixonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14959081275116311853noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2156446618762973579.post-7037826259892055552013-09-08T14:55:19.998-07:002013-09-08T14:55:19.998-07:00I really don't think I would put flannel on th...I really don't think I would put flannel on the back (altho' it would be nice) and would be tempted to use a nice white cotton and then applique a few doilies onto it for interest when someone turns it over.
